Sheep Thrills – Peep’s Sheep
Bo Peep has NOT lost her sheep, for you and your child have Sheep in safekeeping!
This project is rather humorous, not to mention fun! (We’ve got so many fun projects to do!)
To create Peep’s Sheep, you’ll need a bag of cotton balls, a few big googley eyes, some black felt, a piece of red felt, black pipe cleaners, some hard cardboard, some tape, a container of modeling clay (or Playdoe), and some school glue.
Ask your child to draw an outline of a sheep without the legs. You’ll use this for your pattern. If you prefer, you can certainly make the outline yourself.
Next, cut out two small pieces of black felt for the ears, and one for the nose. Attach to cardboard using a bit of glue. Attach pipe cleaners to the sheep using a bit of the tape; this will form the ‘legs’.
Next, glue cotton on Peep’s body. Form the tail by thinning out a cotton ball and attaching with either a bit of tape, then overlaying with more cotton balls, or with a bit of glue.
You may even hang a small rope and a bell around Peep and use as a decoration.
To place Peep’s Sheep in a standing position, make four small mounds, using the clay and then sink Peep’s ‘legs’ into the mounds. Allow to thoroughly dry.
