Igloo - also makes a great Vacation Bible School Project

Begin saving your plastic milk cartons.  Be sure and wash thoroughly with soap and water to prevent mold, odor and unwanted pests.  These can be stored in giant lawn bags and kept in your garage.  You may want to ask your friends, family, and/or neighbors to contribute to this project, because it does take a lot of plastic milk cartons.

When you’ve accumulated a fair amount of cartons, begin building the igloo using hot glue.  Your child can help by figuring out how to place and fit together the cartons, and can strategically plan the door opening and any windows they may want in the igloo.  

During the building phase of the project, center your child’s interests on some fascinating arctic facts.  A book about seals, whales, arctic foxes, polar bears or the tundra life would be a perfect accompaniment!
