Educational & Fun - Free Activity Planner for Kids

Romance, Love, Marriage, and kids (the by-product of your loving relationship). Once the baby arrives, sometimes Romance is out the door. These wonderful children's activities are designed to enhance the time that you and your partner spend with your child and to translate that time into quality time.  These children's activities are 'memorable' activities - and your kid will think about these impressions for a long while to come - perhaps forever!  Yes - kids and romance can mix! Cupid is here to help so that you have more time to concentrate on romance.  We highly recommend that both parents enjoy the activities with the child which strengthens family unity.

Bean & Rice Bags

Begin by visiting the remnant section of your favorite fabric center.  Your child can choose their favorite sample, and if nothing catches their fancy, then find something fun on a bolt of fabric.  You’ll only need a couple of squares about 8 X 8 inches. Another idea is to take your child’s favorite worn or outgrown garment and make the bean/rice bag using this material.

Plus:  Pick up a large bag of rice or beans while you are out on your shopping spree.  As a note, adults know these products can be purchased packaged in a bag, or loose in the produce section.  Share this with your child and if they are old enough to understand, compare prices and the best bargain for the buck.

To make your bean or rice bag, turn the squares so that the ‘outside’ of the fabric is facing one another, then simply stitch the 2 squares together, leaving one small section unstitched so you can fill it with the beans or rice.

Before filling, turn your stitched empty bag inside out.  Fill, then carefully stitch the bag shut.  Ruffles, lace, tassels and beads can all be added for a more elaborate effect.

When stitching, you can use either a sewing machine or needle and thread.  If your child has never threaded a needle, they will enjoy this adult-tedious task!

Be certain to tightly sew the fabric. This project should only be used for children who have ‘passed the choking age/stage’.
