Smart Budgeting Can Add Up To Big Bananas
Find a quiet place and thumb through the coupons from the paper. Identify the products that you know you'll use; clip them out and put them behind the dividers that you've labeled.
Every now and then you'll need to review your coupons and toss the outdated ones.
When you shop, keep an eye out for special buys. If you have a coupon for the product on sale, you'll save even more! Shop at stores that offer double and triple coupons. Let me give you some examples of some super buys.
- The store has the large bottle of Kraft salad dressing on sale for $ .99 and you have a coupon for $ .50 off. The store will double your coupon – which means that you will get the salad dressing for free.
- Folgers coffee is on sale for $1.59 and you have a coupon for $1.00 off. The coffee will cost you $ .59 – what a deal, eh?
- Keebler cookies are on sale for $1.39 and you have a coupon for $ .35 off. The store will triple the coupon - which means that you will pay $ .34 for the cookies.
Seasonable Treats
Keep an eye out for seasonal products in the grocery store, especially in the produce section. You can find great buys on watermelon in the summertime – but try getting one for the same price in the winter.
Generally, before winter hits the stores will run specials on soup and canned goods. People tend to stock up on these items for the long cold spell ahead.
Each spring, eggs are just about guaranteed to go on sale. Why? Well, it's a combination of Easter and 'good laying'.
