Smart Budgeting Can Add Up To Big Bananas
This article will show you have to cut big $$$$ off your grocery bill – one of the key expenses in your budget! Learn how to shave dollars off your total food bill without giving up nutrition or the foods you both like…
If you are like most people, grocery shopping is a weekly chore. Perishable items such as bread and milk, usually govern why and when we shop.
So, how do we save some money? First of all, do you know what you currently spend on your weekly grocery bill?
Once you have calculated the amount of money that you average spending each week for groceries, go to a retail store and purchase a large cookie jar. Next, try out some or all of the suggestions listed below and take whatever money you save and begin filling your cookie jar. By the end of the year you'll have enough money to have a wonderful Christmas, or to take a fun trip, buy furniture – or invest.
These are some of the things that you can use to keep food costs down.
Coupons
Buy a Sunday paper; better yet try to find a Sunday paper that has two papers bundled together. For about $2.00 you can get double the coupons. Another great source for coupons is magazines and the Internet.
Once you get set up for couponing, it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes of your time each week.
You'll need a flat bag, or a billfold with dividers, so that you can separate your coupons into categories. Label your dividers so that you'll be able to easily find the coupons you need. Don't keep or clip coupons that you'll never use. You'll save more by purchasing the things that you use rather than a product that is a 'luxury or premier' item. If it's free with your coupon, that's one thing. Other than that, you'll just be buying things that you wouldn't normally buy, therefore spending more money than before you began using the coupons.
