Love Potions - Need something to perk up your romance? Then try some of our wonderful love potions.... Romance - Stressed From Stress
If you’ve recently entered into a new relationship, a new marriage, or your current relationship is experiencing waves of unrest, you may be undergoing stress overload. Can you identify which of the following examples is stress? - You and your honey win a dinner for two at a fancy, well-known restaurant. - On the way to the restaurant you have a flat tire.
- Once you arrive at the restaurant it takes almost 15 minutes to verify your reservation. - Per chance, you see your best friends Thelma and Todd at the restaurant. My, it’s such a small world! They join your table for dinner. - Though you and your honey ordered medium steaks, they arrive at your table well done. - Thelma and Todd volunteer to switch meals since they had ordered their steaks well done, but had received theirs medium. - Midway through the meal Thelma and Todd divulge they’ve had a recent bout with a throat infection and they hope they’re not contagious. - Dessert arrives; black forest cheesecake smothered with fudge sauce, whipped cream and strawberries. It’s delicious, and rightfully so; the menu states a calorie count of 854. - On the drive home it starts to rain and the streets become slippery. - Once home, you both settle into your comfortable bed and set the alarm for work. If you chose all the answers, you are correct! Stress is generally associated with negative events in one’s life. Just the thought of having to deal with a cranky boss, a rebellious toddler or a jealous mother-in-law generates stress! However, even good stress adds to our overall stress level. Combine our good stress with our bad stress and it’s easy to reach an overload point in very little time. Even if you imagine things that COULD happen, it’s stress. If you are concerned that you won’t get that raise or promotion (iffy), or that your vehicle may be gearing up for expenses due to that new humming noise (bad), or that your budget will allow you to purchase a brand new vehicle (great) – all of these are stress-producing thoughts. Whether the event is great, good, ‘iffy’, bad or terrible, just imagining potential changes in your life is stressful. Some other things that affect your stress level are: - Health issues, either your own health or the health of someone you love. Any event that alters your body has a bearing on your stress level. This includes everything from a minor paper cut, to allergies, to the loss of a loved one. - Emotional events such as arguments, disagreeing, and conflicts generate stress. - Environmental changes affect stress levels. click here for symptoms of stress
