One ‘Tom Hanks Word’ is Worth a Thousand Pictures

If they’re great – or if they’re lucky, an actor will have a few movie tags associated with them for life.  A few examples are, “Stella!!”  “I’ll be back.”  “Howdy, Pilgrim.”  “Are you scared, punk?”  “Snap out of it!”  “Put the candle back.”  “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”  Can you identify the actor or actress associated with these short, but oh so memorable lines?  Bet you can!  And if not, the answers are posted at the end of this article.

As for Tom Hanks, he has scored BIG TIME in this genre and it’s certainly not due to luck!

In ‘real life’ Tom Hanks has a definite way with words.  One would only have to listen to one of his extemporaneous speeches at the Academy Awards.  No one can quite match his eloquence, wit, or candor.  

It’s all in the delivery - and without question, Tom’s smooth delivery slides onto the screen.  I’m sure we have all got some of our own favorite Tom Hanks’ lines locked into our memory, and sometimes it’s fun to pull out the magic and review those wonderful memorable moments.

These are just a few of my personal favorites associated with Tom.

“You’ve Got Mail!” ~~ You’ve Got Mail

“To infinity and beyond.” ~~~ Toy Story

This last line parallels so well with Tom’s career!
