It had been irresponsible - climbing the ladder and walking on the slick roof. He must think her a total idiot! And for some reason, she didn't want him thinking that.
The hot bath renewed her energy and when she joined the men, she felt a bit self-conscious dressed in the doctor's oversized robe.
Phillip stood as she entered and complimented, "You clean up nicely."
Heather smiled at him, Phillip's curious eyes batting swiftly over her reaction to his compliment.
She was quite beautiful, and although his original analysis of her leaned towards the 'not-so-bright' side, once that he had visited further with Jack, his opinion had changed.
Until now, he had only spoken a handful of words with the man.
The old guy was sure pushy - had even bullied him into preparing a pot of stew while they waited for Heather to join them. And now that they were going to be his house guests for a spell......he wasn't so sure he should have made the offer.
