The blue depths of her eyes fused with his troubled face, knowing that he greatly resented her authority. She considered him very dominant, unaccustomed to letting a woman take the lead. At least he had made an effort in respecting her lead, although he had done such begrudgingly. She jerked her head to Nick as he suddenly announced, "We're setting up camp on the other side of the ridge for the night." Anna shook her head and asked, "Since when are you in charge?" Nick dusted the side of his nose with a heavily gloved hand, then eased out, "Since now. Jerod and I think you've lost us and we're not going to die while you try to figure out the trail."
