Wedding Centerpieces
Next, before designing your centerpiece, think a bit about your Wedding theme and your Wedding colors. Visit your local craft's store and feast on ideas.
Netting is ultra cheap and acts as a great filler for your centerpiece. Silk flowers, miniature wedding knick-knacks, tiny birds such as doves, pearls, glitter - all of these materials are fantastic centerpiece materials.
These are also items that you can slowly purchase, spreading the cost out over time.
Get even closer to nature by collecting pine boughs, pine cones, beautiful berries, beach shells - the possibilities are endless!
Fresh Flowers
Fresh flowers can be very expensive. However, don't rule these fragile beauties entirely out! When we think of 'Wedding', we automatically think 'elaborate' rather than 'elegant'.
So, let's talk elegant. What is elegant? Simple. Simple is about as elegant as one can get. How do you achieve an elegant centerpiece that's simple?
Locate the largest clear vase you can find. Fill it to the top with water. Buy 2-3 long stemmed flowers - such as Gladiolus and allow them to jut out of the vase.
If you'd like to add a bit of color, then do by simply adding a couple of drops of food coloring to the water. You can also drop a few glass chips into the vase to cover the bottom.
Wildflowers
Wildflowers aren't only out and about during Springtime! Generally, they can be found any time of the year in most areas. You'll have to gather the flowers on the day of the Wedding, but their beauty is well worth your trouble. Station several vases of wildflowers on your Reception table and throughout the area for eye-catching beauty.
Ice Sculpture
Consider making an miniature ice sculpture if you're artistically talented. You'll need a mold and a lot of patience for this one, though. You'll also have to unveil it very quickly at the reception, especially if your Wedding is scheduled during the warmer times of the year.
