TABLE DECORATIONS:
Flat sheets, specifically
white ones, work very well as elegant, yet inexpensive tablecloths.
Purchase some $1.00 glass
candle globes at either the dollar store or your ‘supermart’ and place pastel, scented candles
in them that parallel with your wedding colors.
Another idea is to use netting
that matches your wedding colors. Generally, it runs about fifty cents or less a yard at
fabric shops and your local ‘supermart’. A pretty effect is to place the netting on a long table,
allowing for a three foot overhand. Gather the netting in the center and wrap with ribbon; stud it
out with a cluster of silk or real flowers for an outstanding display.
Check local contractor retailers
that carry wallpaper. Generally, there’s a discontinued display packed with goodies just
waiting to line your wedding table. You can find pretty foils to dynamic embossed designs from $1.00
on up per roll or bolt.
White plastic drop clothes
are another great idea for table covers. They can be decorated to match a specific wedding
theme and are easy to dispose of after the wedding.
Check the thrift stores
for unique tablecloths and other covers. You may even find a great candleholder that will ‘set
off’ your Reception table while you’re looking.
These are all items that
you can purchase in advance, too! And that's a great thing to remember when planning your wedding.
If you are on a shoestring budget, buy a little each week until your Wedding Day arrives.
