Oriental
Pepper Stirfry - Chinese Cookery
A very colorful dish!
Prepare wok by heating the peanut oil. Add steak and cook until tender. Add the peppers and onions and cook again, until tender, but crisp.
Toss your favorite sauce into the mix. Cashews, peanuts or hulled sunflower seeds will add a unique flavor, so experiment with these nut meats, if desired.
Ingredients
1 red bell pepper cut into small strips
1 green bell pepper cut into small strips
1 yellow bell pepper cut into small strips
1 yellow or white onion, ringed
1/2 pound of round steak pounded, then cut into thin strips
2 Tablespoons of peanut oil
1 Teaspoon of Soy Sauce or your favorite Oriental Sauce (adjust to your personal taste)
Salt & Pepper to taste
Stir-Fry Tips
Turn up the heat! The trick is to keep the food moving to prevent scorching or burning.
If more oil is needed, bring it to the frying temperature before adding more food.
If you are watching your waistline, try adding a bit of water rather than oil.
When 'stirring' your stir-fry, gently list and turn the food using a folding motion.
