Stir-Fry Tips

Turn up the heat! The trick is to keep the food moving to prevent scorching or burning.

If more oil is needed, bring it to the frying temperature before adding more food.

If you are watching your waistline, try adding a bit of water rather than oil.

When 'stirring' your stir-fry, gently list and turn the food using a folding motion.

Recipe for Wonton Wappers

If you have never experimented with Wontons, get ready for some high-kicking fun!

Ingredients

Stir-fry an assortment of Oriental veggies - fresh or frozen. Some great choices include water chestnuts, bean sprouts, garlic, red peppers and cabbage - either red or green on the peppers and the cabbage.

1/2 pound of shredded chicken - dark or white
1 Tablespoon of soy sauce to cook your veggies in
Your favorite bottled Oriental sauce. Sweet & sour works very well with this recipe.
Salt, pepper
1 Pack of Wontons

Stir-fry veggies in the soy sauce until tender, but still crisp. Add salt and pepper to taste. Next, add the shredded chicken and as much of the sauce as desired. You are finished with your 'Wonton filler'.

Place a bit of the filler on a Wonton, then fold the corners to create a triangle. Fold other corners to create a Wonton. It should resemble a fat purse.

Fry your Wontons in hot oil, drain, and enjoy! You should have enough Wontons for a couple of meals. Leftovers can be warmed in the microwave under a close eye, but Wonton Wappers tend to be especially good right after preparation.
